WHERE VENGEANCE GOES BEFORE JUSTICE
Sunday, October 10th, 2010By Ian Hamilton QC
A great injustice stains our Scottish Law.
In the most important case ever to be brought before our courts an innocent man was convicted.
Evidence was concealed.
Evidence was suborned by bribery.
Perjury was committed to obtain a conviction.
Only an enquiry can clear this stain.
The pusillanimous Scottish Government refuses an enquiry.
A government in thrall to Westminster and Washington denies us the right to know what happened at the Lockerbie trial.

My computer isn’t taking comments from me. I want to reply to Mr Tomlin’s comment.
When somewhere I said Amerian would be satisfied with the conviction of someone with a black skin I was making a generalisation and it was the Government of the USA I was meaning, not their people. They have as little control over their government as we have. I am not anti the peoples of either England or America or any other country for that matter.
I have this justification for my comment. I had in mind the shooting down of a Syrian civil airliner by USS Vincennes and the subsequent decoration of its CO. The loss of civilian life was equivalent to that lost at Lockerbie. The USA Government may have had in mind that action when they thought it appropriate to seek the conviction of someone ‘with a dark skin’. A Libian was the most appropriate candidate as Libya was then a ‘rogue state’.
But does it matter? The crime was international and Scottish justice has been used to perpetrate vengeance on an innocent man whatever the colour of his skin.
Thank you for your interest.
